Help us avoid eviction

Anyone that knows me knows I am not good at asking for help, but I am out of options because we are in a dire situation. I have been out of work now for 5 months and as most of you know my wife can’t work because of her illness which makes us a single income family. When I lost my job, it took away the only source of income we have which has put us 4 months behind in our rent and about to be evicted. I have applied for help from the Veterans Administration and have been turned down twice. We have had a rough time this past year, but we always managed to figure it out until now. I would not be doing this if it was just me and didn’t affect my wife and son. This is my last hope to keep us in our apartment and not separated. I have recently started training to get my CDL and already have a few job offers when I do get my license but that is still a month away. I want to thank you for any help you can provide. For those of you that don’t know me I served 10 years in the US Navy and US Navy reserve including 5 deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Since getting out of the military I have had a hard time finding jobs and when I do they are temporary positions. My wife was diagnosed with a brain disease called MoyaMoya which restricts blood flow to the brain. To date she has had 9 major strokes and probably 3 times that many mini strokes. She has had 2 major brain surgeries to help the flow, but she still lives with daily headaches, fatigue and other symptoms. After her last stroke she developed Aphasia and has trouble reading and speaking.
