My name is Jonathan Milner. I am 36 years old and have been battling Cystic Fibrosis my entire life. I now need a double lung transplant.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV where I resided until 18 months ago. My doctor in Las Vegas told me I had 1 ½ -2 years to live. With that said, my family and I decided to relocate to Somers Point, NJ so that I could obtain the specialized care that I need and also to be surrounded by a strong family support system.
The relocation and the many, many trips to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick and University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, has taken a financial toll on my family and our journey is just beginning.
I received my first call about a possible donor but unfortunately that donor did not work out. The good news is that I am now near the top of the recipient list. The reality is that the surgery is happening sooner rather than later.
I am very thankful for all the love and support from my family and friends. I have a great medical team at the University of Pennsylvania. The only thing I need now is the financial support on this next phase of my life.
With my deteriorating condition, I cannot work and my mother is not working in order to care for me. Your generous donation will help with my surgery and 3 month rehabilitation, which includes lodging and travel costs for me and my family. It will also assist with our lack of household income.
No donation is too small; every little bit helps. Even if you are not able to donate, please Like and Share my page on Facebook to spread the word.
I am excited and hopeful that my new lungs will give me my life back, which this disease has severely limited.
Thank you and God Bless
JD Milner
