Einstein needs two new knees!

For those of you who don't know, Einstein is our 5-year-old black and white corgi-mix my wife and I rescued last October through Thank Dog Rescue in Newton, CT. We have taken him into our home and have loved him dearly over the past 11 months.
Einstein is very energetic, playful, and loves being around people. After one month in our home, we found out that he had 2 bladder stones and needed immediate surgery. Thanks to Thank Dog Rescue, Einstein was able to have the stones removed and has been bladder-stone free ever since. We are so thankful for this.
However, as life throws us curveballs, Einstein experienced another injury on 9/26/15 when he was unable to walk or move his back legs. After taking him to the emergency vet, we were informed that he had torn his cruciate ligaments in both his hind legs. Yes, not just one leg, but both. For those who aren't familiar with this condition, it is equivalent to a human tearing both of their ACL's, the ligaments that hold the knee together.
Given this, we are reaching out for your help. Einstein needs surgery to repair these ligaments ASAP. Each leg will cost approximately $2000-2,500 for surgery and post-op care. Once the first leg is repaired, he will need 6-8 weeks of recovery time and physical therapy. He will then need to go back for surgical repair of his second leg. It may take many months for Einstein to fully recover.
We love Einstein so much and cannot picture our lives without him. It breaks our hearts to see our baby unable to walk normally and be his cheerful, loving, energetic-self. We hate to see him suffer. Since his injury, Einstein has been on pain medication, muscle relaxers and we have been carrying him around our house to assist him with eating and bathroom duties.
We are asking for your help through donations to assist with our little boy's injuries. All we wish for him is to have a successful surgery that will have him up and walking again in no time. We appreciate any help that you can give us in replacing Einstein's knees.
We plan to post updates of Einstein's recovery. We will post some follow-up pictures and give progress updates as we get them. Please keep this little boy in your thoughts and prayers. Our rescue dog has brought so much joy into our lives.
