Taylor Clark, 53, is at Duke University's Cardio Thoracic ICU, he suffered a massive stroke Wednesday, October 18. His aorta tore from his carotid artery to his iliac artery. He has undergone abdominal surgery, been on dialysis, taken off dialysis, had craniotomy surgery (portion of skull removed) to relieve brain swelling and is on a oxygen and a feeding tube.  His left side is currently paralyzed and and he hasn't opened his eyes for more than a few minutes with the left not looking very capable.  
The road ahead will involve speech therapy, physical therapy and who knows what else.  They can not get there however until he is out of the woods from the stroke, brain swelling and maintaining his blood pressure and heart rate.
He is married to Renee (my sister) and has a daughter Olivia 14, son Jason 11 and step-daughter, Trinity 15.  Taylor is a Sales Manager at O2 Fitness in Raleigh, NC. Being the primary financial provider and unable to work, you can imagine the toll this is taking not only emotionally but financially on the family.
No one can prepare for such a devastating nightmare.  Having a wife, 3 children and a home to support, Taylor worked very hard and is unable to produce an income for the unforeseen future.
