Alejandro's 10th grade Trip to Europe

Alejandro has been nominated by 4 of his teachers to embark on an educational trip with his World Geography teacher and classmates in April 2014. We are fundraising for Alejandro to go and his mom to chaperon as well. Alejandro is a 10th grade student at the International High School of New Orleans who is currently taking 6 Honors classes. He has been baking brownies at 5:30 am everyday to raise money for his trip, as well as other creative fundraising efforts. He recently got a job working one day a week as an assistant chef to prep and cook food for clients in efforts to raise money for his trip. Alejandro comes from a single parent home with 3 siblings. Even though this trip may be a dream we are working hard to turn that dream into a reality.His teacher states her reason for the trip: " Here at the International High School of New Orleans, some of our students have demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, attitude, and commitment to academics. We have decided to reward their hard work and commitment by planning a 10 day educational tour of France and Spain to depart April 2014. These students have demonstrated these promising academic qualities while beating many odds in their personal lives. Why then, should the lack of money be the reason such well-deserving students are kept from realizing a dream and realizing a life changing opportunity? "
