#Harvey Took It ALL

Arham lived in the Canyon Gate Community in Katy, TX. If you watched the news, you saw the people being evacuated by boat. The residents were just let in their neighborhood yesterday afternoon after water finally receded, almost two weeks after Harvey hit. As I entered the neighborhood, I felt I was driving in a landfill. It is terrible and I have never seen anything like it. I got to Arham’s house where there were no windows or doors and all her possessions were in piles in the front yard. I found her in a back closet trying to salvage any clothes that were not covered in mold. She was renting the home and the homeowner was there helping her. She hugged me tightly and I was trying not to cry. She told me she was staying in a hotel and she wouldn’t let me know how she needed help. The homeowner told me that they have nothing, both cars are ruined and every possession in the one story house is gone. I tried to talk her into coming to stay with me in my home and I think I am going to keep asking.I cried when I returned to the car. This is such a tragedy and I want to help her. This is what the homeowner stated she needs immediately, a storage for her only possessions. If you know anyone who has an empty garage or empty storage where she can put her few remaining things. She and her family also needs clothes. She has nothing, no home, no possessions, no food, everything is toxic. I worked with Arham for a year at Mission Glen before hiring her at JPE. She is a hard worker, never misses a day of work, helps out wherever needed, a caring and compassionate human being. If there is anything you can do, let me know.
