Hi everyone! We were hoping we wouldn't have to do this but here it is...On July 29, 2017 Patrick and myself were at a music festival in Pennsylvania. During one of the bands someone who was stage diving kicked Patrick directly in the eye. We didn't know how serious this injury was until the following evening when we visited Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore. Patrick had suffered a large corneal abrasion and was in extreme pain with very limited vision. Because of the severity of his injury he was unable to work. After the initial injury came several hospital and doctors visits to the Wilmer Eye Institute. One day it was an abrasion then there was swelling or an infection. On top of the pain and lack of relief - it seemed like nothing was getting better.Fast forward to a month later on August 29, 2017 and Patrick is slowly getting better but only time will tell. His vision is still poor and the pain/headaches are a constant. We are solely living on my income and it's just not enough. Bills are becoming past due including our mortgage and car payment. We are writing this in hopes of our friends, family, colleagues...a kind stranger even - just donating what they can.
