New Beginnings

Hi, my name is Estefania, I have two daughters aged 5 and 7 and we have to leave the house where we currently live.

I found a house to rent from a friend to whom I explained my situation and she told me that she could wait until the 10th of February 2025 and until I was granted housing benefit.

When I spoke to the council for applied for the housing benefit I explained everything and the worker told me that the hardest part was to find the house and if I had it already the only thing she had to do it was to formalise it.

After asking to the landlady and me for endless paperwork, which of course is absolutely necessary, two working days before the moving date the worker send her a form to sign in which it is the council who rents the house and in case I am moved she has to rent to whoever the council decides.

The flat is new and that is why the owner has insisted that it be me because she knows that I will take care of the house as if it were my own and that is sometimes worth more than earning more money, that is why she has refused to sign it and I do not want to expose her to such a risk.

Now I don't have that money for the deposit and the rent (which is £3500 but I give her everything that I had which is £1000 and still need the rest £2500) and I don't have the previous house either because everything had already changed because the council had already confirmed that they would accept it a few days before and now they do not without this form.

So I need to find another solution and do not lose hope for my kids. This is a new beginning for us and I know that we will be better, I just need that little push to finally find the peace that we deserve.
