Alex T. Delaney

Alex Delaney was born January 20, 2013 at 24 weeks gestation, weighing 1lb 2oz. and 10 inches long. Born extremely early, Alex has many medical issues including cerebral palsey, severe lung disease and a rare condition known as lymphangiectasia. A disorder of the lymphatic system where the ducts become blocked or inflamed, with this illness there is also an absence of his thoracic duct, all treatments are experimental at this time. He has under gone retinopathy of prematurity surgery, amniotic membrane transfer, and tracheostomy, with many more surgeries ahead of him. Baby Alex has never been home with his family, he has traveled by helicopter and ambulance to four different NICU's, and is currently in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, over two hour drive from the family home. Alex is now over 10lbs and is continuing to fight.
Alex is the son of Tim and Donna, he also has two older sisters Samantha and Rebecca, all who eagerly anticipate the day he comes home. Funds are being raised to defray traveling expenses for the family, medical costs, and home preparation for the arrival of Baby Alex.
