Celebrate The "Messiah"

My 88 year old father, Jon Esquivel, Jr is an accomplished musician and composer. One of his favorite memories is of conducting a professional orchestra and chorus to Handel's "Messiah."His first presentation was in December, 1960, just days after his mother's untimely death. That first concert was dedicated to her memory.
Since then, he has organized church and community choirs to present various cantatas. In the early 1970s, he formally organized "The Ecumenical Choir of San Antonio." This group was composed of various individuals from many faiths and church groups. The ECSA presented several concerts including "Messiah" and Dubois' "The 7 Last Words of Christ," always with the accompaniment by professional orchestral musicians. Unfortunately, he has not been able to conduct a major choral endeavor in over 20 years. He desires to conduct at least one more cantata in his lifetime. He will turn 89 years old in July.
Such an endeavor is quite costly on his current retirement income. We are asking for donations to help defray costs such as purchasing sheet music, hiring a 10 piece professional orchestral group, securing a venue and providing a simple reception after the concert. No admission will be charged so as to encourage as many attendees as possible. Your monetary help is greatly appreciated. No gift is too small.
