Hi everyone. Anyone that knows me knows that is the LAST thing I’ve wanted to do. But we’ve found ourselves in an unexpected desperate situation and after being encouraged by others to do this, I’m trying to swallow my pride and ask for help.

 After going through a difficult work situation, I was offered a position driving a bus for the city. I began training and went to the DMV to take the test for my CDL permit. When I got there I was informed that I needed either my birth certificate or passport to even take the test. My birth certificate burned in a car fire years ago, and unfortunately I never replaced it. I went home to order a new one and was told that it can take upwards of 90 days to receive.

The good news is that this employer has promised to hold the position open for me until I get the birth certificate. So I WILL have a job if I can make it these few months. So I’ve been applying for work all over the place as well as delivering for Uber Eats. Uber Eats has helped with food, but isn’t enough to pay for the other bills.

Some have offered to help, asking that I set up a GFM that they can contribute towards. When we were going through cancer with Sheridan, so many helped in such an amazingly generous way. And I/we were so grateful. So the idea of returning and asking for more help is THE LAST thing I’ve wanted to do. But if we can get through this 90ish day wait for me to get my birth certificate, then all will be well.

 But please do not feel any obligation to help whatsoever! I am really thankful that so many people have walked with us down this hard road over the last few years, and are still here, telling me to keep going and push through the pain. I love you all!
