Landon's Journey Begins
Meet our son Landon. He's a happy 8 year old child, who loves being with his family, playing with his older brother Isaac and younger sister Vada. Landon loves going to school (Northeastern Elementary school ) enjoys learning but most of all playing with his friends.
One of his most loved things are going to camp. He loves every minute of going to Halfway lake.
Our journey began back on February 15th 2016, when Landon woke his mother in the middle of the night complaining of leg pain.
After a long night at the hospital they discovered Landon had a Tumor in his right hip.
four long trips to Toronto and having to get two different biopsies done, we received the phone call no parents wants to get. On April 15th, The hospital for sick kids confirmed Landon had Ewings Sarcoma a form of bone cancer.
Did I really hear that right? Our son has cancer?
After the shock wore off you immediately jump into fight mode.
We packed up our 3 children and headed to Toronto to fight this fight as a family.
We quickly learned that Landon would need 14 rounds of Chemo, a major surgery that will require a donor bone, and then be followed by more chemotherapy.
The Drs said that it would be best to have Landon here in Toronto full time as he will need to be monitored very closely and we need to be prepared to live here in Toronto for at least 6 months. Currently we have been blessed to be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House and having to only pay $15.00 dollars a day. Sadly I am during our two months of traveling back and forth searching for a diagnosis for Landon my husband was laid off after 8 years of working for Technica Mining, and currently is not working. Landon and I have decided to stay here while my husband takes our daughter and other son back home to Sudbury so he is able to look for work full time.
This journey so far has caused tremendous stress on our family, financially, emotionally and we have really just started. A family friend has started a GO FUND ME account on our behalf which is called "Landon Anderson's Fund" and we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to help us through what will be one of the most trying times of our life.
We have, like everyone else Financial obligations back home in Sudbury, and new expenses here like, accommodations, food, gas, parking, medications and so on.
In advance we'd like to Thank everyone who has and will continue to help our family.

Vada Anderson (sister)
