Shady Grove Hurricane Rebuild

Hurricane Iselle hit our beloved Shady Grove hard! Shady Grove is a little school in the bottom of Puna that serves a rural underpriviledged population. We are one of the Ohana programs of Hawaii Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAAS) Public Charter School. Please help us remove the 20 plus trees that blew down in the storm so we can get back up and running. While we do have hurricane insurance, it will only cover damage to the main structure. It will not cover the tree removal or the play structures, swing set or our precious performance stage. Please help us so we can be there to serve our students again as soon as possible. 8/24/2014 We are back up and running with shcool in session as of Monday August 18. We are well on our way now thanks to all of the help from our precious community...we are hoping to get a roof back up over the stage though! Please help as you can. Mahalo!
