UConn Club Jump Rope

Hello! My name is Ashiespal Bharara and I am the President of UConn Club Jump Rope. Founded this past fall, we are a club dedicated to learning the sport of jump rope, both as a mechanism for fun and physical fitness as well as a way to harness our competitive spirit. We practice twice a week and have more than 25 consistent UConn students that come jump and have a great time!

The National Collegiate Jump Rope Council holds a National Jump Rope Summit every spring. We’re proud to announce that 24 members of our club are planning to attend the competition this year, which is being held at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana at the end of March. UConn has recognized us as an organization that qualifies for funding, which will aid in the expensive cost of getting our group to Nationals.

However, we still need your help!

Our hope is that no one is left behind who wishes to be a part of this amazing experience. Flights are expensive, as is the cost of practice equipment and materials needed for Nationals. We’d greatly appreciate any form of support you can offer in helping us get to Ball State as UConn’s first-ever jump rope team!

As many of our founding members are graduating this semester, we also want to ensure that the club is set up with the materials needed to continue to grow this club next year and for many years to come.
