Smith Family Adoption

Donation protected
Hey! We are Levi and Beth Smith, welcome to our adoption journey! We were married on June 18, 2018. We have always loved children, Levi has a daughter (Mattie) from a previous relationship and we have many family members/close family friends whose children stay with us often so growing our family was no question, we knew wanted to have kids. Soon after our marriage we began our fertility journey knowing that with Beth having PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) getting pregnant would be more difficult. We did not know that over 5 years later we would still be struggling with infertility.
We have said from the beginning that we want to adopt a child as well. We have so much love to give and are firm believers that you don't have to be blood to be family. Our house is a happier place with children in it. We have matched with a birth mother who is giving us the greatest blessing of a SON. Mattie is so excited to be a big sister (finally) as she asks Santa almost every year for a baby! We are not giving up on our fertility journey just yet but it is time for us to grow our family by 2 little feet. Our families are so supportive and are overjoyed to welcome our new baby with us.
With this being a private adoption we are having to hire an attorney to complete the adoption. Attorney fees are not cheap as there is a lot that goes into it! We are asking for donations to help us cover the retainer fee and to help cover court fees for filing the paperwork for the finalized adoption, a home study fee and all other misc. attorney fees associated. Though this is on the cheap side, attorney's fees are still close to $8,000 with NO GUARANTEE that the adoption will go through. Birth parents have 4 days after signing adoption papers to change their minds. Though this would be devastating for us, we only want what is best for this sweet baby boy. We have both taken on working a part time job as well as our full time jobs to try and help cover the costs of adoption on top of preparing to bring a new baby home. We are opening up our hearts to a very vulnerable position but with lots of prayer, we know this is what we want to do. Times are tough for everyone, we are asking that in lieu of Christmas gifts for us this year, we would like a donation towards our adoption fund.
We want our son to know how loved he is and to know how many people helped bring him home. To honor this, for each $10 donation, the donator is sponsoring a puzzle piece that will have their name on the back as a reminder of our village. Fun fact: The puzzle is also his name reveal!
