Don protégé
The Ferrier Family are friends of many in the community and have been deeply involved in the church and in the lives of those who know them. They seek out opportunities to serve whenever they can, howbeit they are in need of help themselves. Their journey with cancer began four years ago. Bill Ferrier was diagnosed with three types of cancer: Hairy cell Leukemia, B-Cell Lymphoma and T-Cell Lymphoma. This came as quite a shock because Bill had always been at the pinnacle of health. before receiving an accurate diagnosis, he was misdiagnosed a few times, allowing his symptoms to progressively worsen. Due to the life-altering situation, Bill became unemployed for an entire year. All of the family's financial funds and resources completely exhausted.
Through the course of the cancer, Bill's blood count levels plummeted to a critically low level. He was restrained from going out in public for fear he would be exposed to a virus and his body would not be able recover. It was difficult to accept that life may never be the same. The positive outlook the family chose to sustain, was inspiring to us all!
The family received the astounding news that the cancers were in remission!! Eventually, Bill was able to be gainfully employed and returned to the workforce.
Fast forward to the present time-the cancer has returned. Bill's blood count levels are again critically low. He has once again been confined to the walls of his home. During the initial diagnosis, the chemotherapy left his white blood cell count at a permanently low level. With that came the increased possibility of illness. Consequently, for the present diagnosis the family is reluctant to use the full standard chemotherapy treatment. Rather they are choosing to use a melding of western and alternative therapy. The hand-in-hand approach that western and alternative therapy poses for addressing various types of cancer, has proven quite effective. Unfortunately at this time, most Insurance plans do not offer assistance with this protocol. This integrative approach to the protocol is most assuredly not cost effective. As a result, the family's financial funds and resources have once again been exhausted. Despite the situation, the family resolves to remain positive.
