$1,000 to Keep a Roof Over My Head

My name is Brianna.

I am reaching out to you in a time of desperate need, and I am humbly asking for your support. Currently, I find myself on the brink of eviction, and I am facing the terrifying prospect of homelessness. I am reaching out to ask for your assistance in raising $3,300 within the next 48 hours to help me avoid this dire situation. This would be able to keep me in North Carolina without an eviction on my credit report.

I have been struggling since November to get the funds needed to pay my past rent, and while my leasing office and property manager are amazing, they run a business. I do suffer from Bipolar Disorder and have not been medicated since March of 2022. I could easily go into the life I've had and my struggles over the past two decades, but I won't. Long story short, I'm located in North Carolina after relocating to be my father's caregiver. I do not have a network or support here since my father passed away in 2020. I work full time, and only call out sick whenever I am sick and unable to work.

December made things even worse. I ended up with COVID from work, a week later it became bronchitis, and then I returned to work for just a few days to end up with the flu. I have only gotten $50 in my short term disability (something that I am still fighting for).

I have reached out to numerous charitable organizations in my area and have either been denied or I am in the wrong location for services available. I applied for an emergency assistance grant through my employer to no avail. One local charity has my cell phone number which has since been shut off.

I have only returned to work last Monday, and I am struggling to even purchase food for myself or even gas to get me to and from work.

I do have a backup plan that involves relocating to Oklahoma to stay with a friend. However, even this option requires a minimum of $1,000 to cover the necessary expenses associated with the move. Regrettably, I do not have the financial means to execute this plan without your generous help. I have sold or pawned off some of my belongings and am trying to raise the money I would need to get to Oklahoma.

The majority of the money would be spent on gas, since my vehicle only gets about 10-15 mpg. The remainder would be put toward food, a moving truck, storage unit for my things, and getting my cell phone back on.
