Our dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the heartbreaking young age of 57. He is currently taking part in medication trials, but this journey has already been incredibly tough for our whole family – our mum, us three daughters, and his grandson. He is now about to turn 60, which is why we are determined to make his wish come true while he is still able. Our dad also proudly served his country in the Army and as a Queen’s Guard, making this challenge even more meaningful to us.

One of his biggest wishes is to walk the Three Peaks one more time, before the disease progresses and takes that ability away from him. Watching someone you love slowly begin to forget pieces of their life, their memories, and even the people closest to them is something no family should have to experience.

We are aiming to walk the Three Peaks within 24 hours – the three tallest mountains in the UK – and are currently finalising a date for the end of April 2026. It will take a huge amount of training, strength, and determination, but we are doing this for our dad and for everyone affected by this cruel disease.
