Medical bills for my ACL surgery
Donation protected
I didn't think I would ever do this, but was convinced by a friend to give it a go.
In March this year I ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament playing Floorball (that's kind of like ice hockey indoors), just one unlucky movement and a loud snap in my knee. 6 weeks later I had to undergo surgery. They drilled two holes in my bone and inserted a new ligament graft taken from my own hamstring. Fascinating what medicine can do these days!
However, this whole procedure left me with medical bills of over $7000 of which my "insurance" will pay roughly $3000. As a PhD student with no income I just cannot pay for these bills. I'm in the last stretch of my PhD, just a month or two to go and I'm having a nervous breakdown trying to figure out how to pay for my medical bills and finish my PhD at the same time.
I really really don't expect anything from this. I only know that every cent will help and that I will be forever grateful. So if you have a few bucks spare at the moment, I would appreciate your help. I'll promise to pay it back one day either by inviting you for a coffee or beer or by helping others in need.
Love you all,
Beeke
