Please help my friend Starlyn Calhoun

My name is Robert Seals, and I am fundraising for my friend, Ms. Starlyn Calhoun. She was diagnosed in November with an neuroendocrine tumor on her bladder, stage 4. Her oncologist gave her 15% to 25% survival after 3 to 6 months. She is trying to fight! She has been through two rounds of chemo at UMMC Cancer Treatment Center in Jackson. I went with her the second time as her caregiver. It's 3 days of getting infusions. We stay at the Gertrude Ford Hope Lodge for cancer patients and their caregivers. Just getting her to her treatments is a burden as she lives 2 hours from Jackson, and I live 1.5 hours from her. Starlyn retired in February of last year, 2023 from Treasure Bay Casino and Resort where she was the beverage manager. Starlyn spearheaded many fundraisers for March of Dimes, Humane Society of Ms., Jackson County Animal Shelter, and other charities her community and for individuals. She also worked at Isle of Capri before hurricane Katrina.

Right after she retired in February last year, her dog knocked her down in the front yard and broke her leg really bad. It required surgery and hardware. It put her in a wheelchair for months. She also needed physical therapy, and home care. There were Dr visits, more surgery, ct scans, xrays, meds, all the things needed that none of us think about until it happens. By around July she was walking with a cane.

Then came the shingles. It has been extremely painful for her and has persisted as advertised.

Then she got that cancer diagnosis.

It was a bad, bad year for Starlyn. The money she had saved for her retirement is gone and the medical bills keep piling up. Medicare and Humana cover some but not all.

So, I am trying to help my friend and that's why I'm asking for donations. If you're religious please pray to your God for her. Everyone, just plant the seed of her name in your mind and hopefully if enough people pray, and that seed grows into something positive, she will have a much better year for 2024.
