Hi,
My name is Lisa and I am fundraising for Rick Williams. If you ask Rick what is most important to him, he will say his family. He wants to be there to hold his wife’s hand, see his daughter graduate from college, and walk her down the aisle. He wants to continue to make memories with his 24 year old son. This is Rick’s story of how cancer has impacted his life, and the lives of the people that love him!
Rick was healthy one day, but noticed swelling in his groin. He thought he had a hernia. Then, his leg started to swell, and turn red. He went to the emergency room because he thought he had a blood clot. He had an ultrasound of his leg that showed a mass in his groin. It wasn’t a blood clot. It was cancer! He had multiple test, and a biopsy that revealed small cell carcinoma. This type of cancer is aggressive, and is normally found in the lungs. Rick had more test, and was relieved that cancer was not found in his lungs. It would take two months for Rick to find out that the primary source of his cancer is prostate. It was determined that Rick has two different types of cancer. The aggressive cancer is in his lymph nodes and liver.
If you know Rick, you know that he has a booming voice, is a hard worker, works out all the time, loves sports, and loves his family. His smile is contagious, and he brings joy to the lives of others. He loves people, and has taken care of people for many years as a Nuclear Medicine Tech. Now, Rick needs our help! Rick found out this week that the cancer is throughout his liver, and he is not sure how much time he has with his family, and friends. Please pray for Rick, and his family! Also, if you can donate to Rick's cancer fund, please do so. Thank you in advance for the prayers, and generosity you will bestow on this family. The love of others help make the difficult times more bearable!
