Tony Hardwick's Fund

Tony Hardwick, a longtime Nevada County neighbor, is locally renowned as a trumpeter and artist. He's played with most of our local musicians, especially in jazz groups.

A few years ago he developed mantle cell lymphoma, an unusual cancer and typically difficult to treat. However, he was accepted for a promising experimental regimen at City of Hope in Southern California.

He just completed that treatment, and needs to stay near the hospital one more week for testing. Tony needs to revisit City of Hope in October, November and December, and many, many times in the years to come.

The company that makes Tony's experimental drug is paying his medical costs, but numerous other expenses aren't covered, such as temporary but obligatory 24/7 nursing care. He estimates he'll owe about $15,000.

I've known Tony as a friend for years. Though I've played only one gig with him (of course, unpaid), he's always been an asset to our community, and is especially appreciated by local artists of all varieties.
