Tribes for Yemen

Yemen is in the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, according to UN.
The war in Yemen is now over five years long and has left 11.3 million children in need of humanitarian assistance to survive. Yemen has the highest COVID-19 fatality rate in the world. So far, 1 million people are predicted to have contracted the virus.
Yemen is a perfect storm of humanitarian, protection and economic crises, with each fuelling the other.
Extreme hunger and disease may have already claimed the lives of up to 85,000 young children.
We started Tribes of Mokha with the idea to create a sustainable long-term source of support for Yemen through its coffee industry. But the current crisis is too acute and needs a powerful inflow of aid urgently.
That is why, in addition to building something beneficial, but long-term, we are organising this fundraiser to bring aid now.
We chose the Save the Children foundation as the partner and beneficiary charity for this campaign.

Save the Children has been working in Yemen since 1963. They were the first international aid group in Yemen and has since then had a consistent presence in the country.
Across Yemen they're supporting 240 clinics, 16 mobile health teams, 27 hospitals, and over 450 schools.
Among other activities, they are:
- treating sick and injured children,
- providing life-saving treatment for malnourished children,
- providing children with access to safe drinking water and essential hygiene items to prevent the spread of illness and disease
- setting up temporary learning spaces, so children don't miss out on an education
- giving food to young children and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers who are at risk of malnutrition,
- giving families cash and vouchers for food and medicine to boost local markets
Even a small donation can make a significant difference and be of great help. Here's some reference on what your donation could provide:
£20 could provide clean cloths, soap, nappies, and a warm hat for a mother and her new-born baby
£30 could provide therapeutic food to help save a child with acute severe malnutrition
£45 could provide a family of 7 with food for a month

Additionally, until the end of August we will be donating 15% of our profits towards this campaign, and will be releasing some beautiful merch designed together with some amazing artists, both Yemeni and international, all proceeds from which will go towards the fundraiser.
We will also be releasing information on more ways you can help and be involved.
