Fundraiser for Ajahni's Care

Don protégé
As most of you know, our son was born on March 15, 2018. He came at 34wk 6days, weighing 4lbs 9oz and diagnosed with complex gastroschisis.

Aasha noticed Ajahni had stopped moving for about 24hours on the 14th of march and we went to the doctor to figure out what was going on. Doctors were not sure why he had stopped moving, but they knew it was time to get him out!

Upon Delivery: Suffering from the umbilical cord around his neck and acidosis of the blood due to his intestine becoming tangled, his blood oxygen levels were below 60 for the first 9minutes of his life. The very next day Ajahni had surgery to reconstruct his intestines and remove the tangled, dead parts of his bowel. During surgery, Ajahni lost very much blood, which resulted in a blood transfusion, weight loss and most importantly left Ajahni with 11cm of small bowel left (normal is 100cm). All this time, neither I nor Aasha were able to hold our son which was very saddening.

Since this day, we have had a long road at the hospital. We had four different rooms in our first month spent at St. Josephs. After about a month, we were transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital which is an equally outstanding hospital which shares our surgeons, doctors, nurses and specialists, but we have already had two rooms in our first week here! Both hospitals have been outstanding, but it has been an ever changing, exhausting, and exciting experience.

St. Joseph

We have daily meetings with nurses and doctors, but keeping all of our information in order has been tough. We have been doing our best to keep everyone updated on Instagram @ajahni_kendrick.

Aasha has spent every single day with Ajahni at the hospital (8+hours), while I go to work and do my best to maintain a successful work/life balance. Working from a home office has helped a ton, but has become stressful since I need to be out and about to make money and cannot spend all day hiding at home or at the hospital. In addition, Aasha will be returning as a full time student once she ends her maternity leave and this is not supplemental income unfortunately.

Thank you for all of your support thus far! Because of all of your help we have been able to keep him happy and healthy, Ajahni has come a long way so far up to nearly 7lbs!

I believe in positive energy and helping those who are in need, if you would like to help us offset our expenses (Below) that would be outstanding.

Ajahni has been the greatest gift for 2018 and I want to make this year about him, as they said he will probably spend majority of his first year in the hospital.

If you'd like to donate to a charitable cause or our hospitals instead please see http://www.phoenixchildrens.org/ways-to-help/donate , https://averysangels.org/ , or https://www.supportstjosephs.org/donate because they have been great resources to Aasha & I thus far.
