On Sunday, July 23rd, Maria Russo lost her long-fought battle with depression and mental illness. The Russo family is devastated with the loss of their mother and are trying to plan for a difficult and trying future without Maria. She left behind two daughters; one who has a child of her own, and another who has yet to graduate high school. Carissa, Maria's oldest daughter, is now responsible for Maria's funeral expenses and assuming the role of guardian for her younger sister.
