I am about to embark on my mid-year as a thirty-something, and to celebrate I am doing a first for me: Going to volunteer in Africa.
The only catch is that I booked a ticket I couldn't afford in faith that I would raise the money.... which is where this "Birthday-A-Thon" comes in play.

On May 29, 2013 I will embark on a journey to Uganda to work with the Children's Sure House Charity.
We will be working with the Ssese Island project:
The project is located at Maboga village, one of the poorest areas on the island. They provide free formal education in well equipped schools and participate in community development projects.
During our time there, we will support a building project with local builders on the school property, teach and play with the children and help to distribute staple food items to the local community.
We will also be collecting and delivering items to the project including clothing and school supplies.
