Funeral Costs for George Petridis

My father, George Petridis, passed away on July 4th and has since been cremated and is awaiting an upcoming memorial service.
Originally born in Athens, Greece, my dad was an impressionist/abstract artist who was known for his many works and paintings that can be found throughout the both the U.S. and internationally today.
Pending his memorial service, he will be taken back to Greece by myself and my brother and laid to rest amongst the waves of the Mediterranean, in accordance with his wishes.
This Go-Fund Me is to help the family cover the immediate costs of funeral arrangements and matters of settling estate (since he did not have a life insurance policy or living will). In the midst of this tragedy the family is also dealing with several other, interconnected hardships as well, and getting the money to cover funeral costs will be next to impossible for us otherwise at the current time. Cremation alone costs almost $2,000.
*This Go-Fund Me is NOT to cover costs of plane tickets for Kostas and I to take him to Greece. We do not plan on doing that for some time now (within the next 2-3 years) and are in NO rush/will save that money on our own. This is only to take the burden off our minds of having to finish the main funerary costs.
Those that know me, understand that it pains me to put this up since I am a proud, hard working individual, but given the time constraints and other battles we are currently fighting as a family, I'm not sure what else to do. Thank you all and I will find a way to return the favor.
