I’ve sat and rewrote this dozens of times only to realize there are no words that do her justice, so here goes nothing...
My mom, Vicki (Ray) Killingsworth is the most selfless, loving person you will ever meet. A Wife, a Mother, a Sister, a Grammy and friend to many. She was diagnosed on April 1, 2021 with stage 3B Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer. Last week she was bumped up to stage 4 as the Cancer has now spread to her brain.
She will be undergoing Radio-surgery on her brain in the next couple of weeks to hopefully get the cancer under control in the brain to start chemoradiation and possible immunotherapy for her lungs. All her treatment is located a couple hours from home so she will be making the trek from Selma to Birmingham almost daily once treatment starts.
There is no cure for this cancer but hoping to make my mom as comfortable and stress free as possible. Spending time with family and friends making as many memories as we can.
