So, as some of you know and might not know, now is the time to tell.
Dad has been battling stage 4 cancer for some time and unfortunately it’s starting to get the best of him. We’re not sure how much time we have left with him but we take every opportunity we have to be with him, if only for moments at a time. His friends and extended family have been following suit as well. He’s been surrounded with an outpouring of love and support.
He was in the marines when he was younger and he carried that mentality with him his entire life. He was our mentor, source of guidance, best friend, the rock of our family. I guess that’s part of what makes all this so hard. The man has literally shown zero weakness our entire lives. He’d still rather complain about how much the Cowboys suck or how well the Celtics are currently playing. That ridiculous amount of strength and will power can only go so far though.
So that brings us to right now. He remains steadfast in the mindset that this is just something else for him to tackle. Mad props you wonderful stubborn old man. We would like to honor the strongest person we know with a proper goodbye. If there’s anything anyone would be able to contribute, it would help us greatly with all the services associated with his eventual passing.
