I, Javier Lujan am creating this account to raise money for medical expenses for my mom- Yolanda Ortega Montoya.
My mom has been suffering through so many health problems over the last 10 years but currently she is in stage 5 renal failure and only has 15% kidney function. We were blessed to know that she was approved and placed on the kidney waiting list about 3 weeks ago but were advised the wait averaged about 3-5 years. Due to the rapid decrease in function we knew she did not have that kind of time to wait for a kidney. So, about 3 weeks ago I was advised that I was a match for my mom and could become a living donor!
My mom is one of the most caring and loving people that you will ever meet. She has put everyone's needs in front of her own and has sacrificed a lot of her happiness for mine and my brother's. She has worked her entire life to support our family and definitely deserves a better life than what she has been given. When we found out I was a match, my mom and I were reflecting on life and she told me "26 years ago I gave you life and now... now here you are giving me life." She cried then I cried. She was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I am able and willing to donate but the reality is, I am the one that is extremely grateful. I’m grateful that she is my mother, that she raised me and taught me everything I know. I can't picture my life without her. I am blessed to be able to donate my kidney and give her new life. A life that she deserves!
So we're asking for help with all the medical expenses associated with a kidney transplant. After the transplant she will have to stay in Phoenix, AZ for 6-8 weeks and I'll have to stay for about 3 weeks so any help is greatly appreciated! My family has been blessed to have the love of so many people and we are forever grateful for your support!
