My entire life I’ve dreamt of owning my very own puppy…6 months ago my dream became a reality & I got “DEMI” --- an adorable mini Australian Shepard! When I first held her in my arms, I thought her heart seemed to be racing, I thought how she might be stressed and excited about her new adventure with me…
Then I quickly learned if she did not undergo necessary heart surgery, at any moment her heart would stop. Demi was born with a PDA heart murmur. A patent ductus arteriosus occurs when the blood vessel to the heart does not close after the birth of the puppy. This makes the blood flow through the heart in an irregular fashion causing the heart to work twice as hard as it should.
Demi’s condition requires surgery since her murmur is so severe. The cost will be a minimum of $3000.00. I am with her every minute of every day and the longer we have                                 
together  the more afraid I am of the short time we will share together not having the finances to afford the cost of her surgery.
I appreciate any amount and level of support anyone can donate. IF for any reason, I’m not able to raise appropriate funds, you have my word I will donate this account to Texas A&M Veterinary Research for Ductus Arteriosus. It’s very humbling to ask for help, but I hope all the small amounts will add up to give my lil girl a second chance at life.
