247th Marine Corps Ball

The United States Marine Corps was established in the Revolutionary War on November 10, 1775. The recruiting headquarters was set up by Capt. Samuel Nicholas in the Tun Tavern on Water Street in Philadelphia which is considered the birthplace of the Marines. Each year all Marines near and far get together to celebrate this day.

The annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebrates Marine Corps history and traditions. It represents where the Marine Corps started and where it is now; while giving us a glimpse of the past, present and future. Throughout the world, on 10 November, Marines celebrate the birth of their Corps -- the most loyal, revered, and professional fighting force the world has ever known.

The Marines located in Great Lakes, IL., have been on the road to funding this event, but we need your help. All proceeds earned will go to putting together a night for the Marines and their spouses to honor those who came before us and those who came after us.

Any support for the Great Lakes, IL. Marines and the 247th Marine Corps Ball would be highly valued.
