The hardest walks lead to the best destination, and for me, that would be home. However, most of you know by now that I’ve lost my ability to walk due to 6 compound back fractures that cannot be operated on at this time. I was already seriously compromised by medical issues that I have openly shared on Facebook with all of you so you could lift me up in prayer, send good karma, positive vibes, gifs or memes that made me laugh. Your love, support and standing in the gap with me and for me have helped get me through these LONG hospital stays. I’ve been working hard in rehab to get better and stronger so I can go home. I am on the road to recovery and God is good and hears my prayers. To go home requires a lot of medical supplies and equipment. I have a lot of the supplies because we had to fit our house for them when Alex suffered his anoxic brain trauma but I’m still in need of several things.
There are 26 stairs to get into my house and on the main level. I’ve only been able to do 4 stairs in rehab and it puts a lot of pressure on my spine so my treatment team suggested we sell our house, add to our downstairs so there is an extra bedroom and a kitchenette or get a chair lift and an electric power lift chair recliner to have full access to the main level of our house.
Needless to say, we were overwhelmed by those choices as they all came with large financial commitments (which we had no idea how we would meet at this time). The amount of grief and the weight of the decisions either way feels crushing.
Then several of you from my army and Prayer Warriors said you would like to help and others probably would too so I should set up a fundraiser. Since the choices in front of me are heavy and harder than I imagined and I have been reminded that I’m not alone, I have set up this fundraiser and I haven’t done it lightly and without a lot of thought, but we do need help and this is a great idea.
If you can help in any way, we would greatly appreciate it. If you prefer to go through Venmo, PayPal or CashApp, just let me know and I can send you the information.
As always, I love y’all BIG.
