I was born with a rare genetic condition known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS for short). Living a normal life with this condition while receiving proper treatment and support is just about as rare as the condition. EDS causes a multitude of secondary conditions and with each secondary condition comes complications. In return this causes many medical professionals to reject patients that live with EDS out of fear from the unknown. Many patients with EDS suffer from a great deal of pain, discomfort and isolation. Since there is little awareness for EDS patients they have a hard time finding proper support or even finding people that believe them. This causes strain ones mental health. In my own experience with a past history of mental health struggles documented in my medical record this can prolong a diagnoses even more; or worse, cause doctors to blame the patients symptoms on their mental health. Celebrity singer Sia speaks out about this publicly when having an article written about her experience with the rare genetic condition. My goal in life is to help those that struggle with mental health by becoming a motivational speaker as well as raise awareness for EDS. I came to know of my life purpose through a miraculous experience that brought me faith. The struggles of this world are big and try to tear me down but my God is much greater and beyond the dirt of any planet. All donations will be used to purchase whatever insurance does not cover such as: organizers for my infusion & feeding tube supplies, clips for tubing so it’s safer for me to walk around without tripping, clips to prevent the tubes from getting yanked off my body, and other essential medical supplies. Any money left over after purchasing the items mentioned above will go to to "The Ehlers-Danlos Society" to further raise awareness and treat others living with EDS.
