Donativo protegido
As some of you know and many of you don’t, Doug has been battling a major medical condition for almost 6 months ... he has been hospitalized for the majority of those 6 months leaving his wife Angela,to be the primary caregiver and financial support for both him and their girls...
On September the 18th , while in Atlanta, Doug suffered a severe acute pancreatic attack that developed into acute necrotizing pancreatitis. He’s been hospitalized for almost 6 months and has overcome the following life-threatening conditions
A Football sized pseudocyst that took almost 3 ½ months and multiple procedures to address,
3 bouts of sepsis,
Splenic artery pseudoaneurys- that in fact ruptured during surgery,
A Paralytic ileus ,
The attack left Doug unable to eat solid food. He became severely malnourished and had to have feeding tube put in place in order for him to get nutrients. He is having a difficult time tolerating the formula for the feeding tube and When he comes home, insurance will not cover his formula and it is $1,700 a month.
He also has Multiple inoperable fluid collections throughout his abdomen.
A colonic fistula,
He is undergoing and will continue to need Extensive physical and occupational therapy.
Gallbladder surgery ,
Because of Low Hemoglobin he has had to have multiple blood transfusions.
He will need Long term acute care after he is discharged so he can get stronger - They are still unsure when he will be released from the hospital but he continues to fight everyday to overcome this and return to his home and his family.
Doug and Angela have been personal friends of mine for well over 20 years . They are both caring and giving individuals. Many of you know Doug is one of the kindest and most loyal person you will ever have the pleasure of having in your life. His wife, Angela will literally give you every ounce of time and effort she has for a friend in need.
Angela has spent day in and day out at the hospital making sure that Doug is getting the necessary care that is needed. To say Doug has had several BUMPS in the road would be a major understatement . He has battled and continues to battle everyday . This long hospital stay has caused major financial hardships not just with medical but also day to day financial obligations.
Please if you can help this family by lessening any of the financial burdens they are facing in the months and year to come please donate- If you can’t donate please share , they have a huge group of people who love and care for them and for the first time they need our help.
