PROJECT DARAKAY LEUKEMIA & BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER
First let me share a tiny bit about me, in case you have received this from someone and you don't know me. I am 46 years old. I have a husband, a 9-year-old son, a 13-year-old son, an 18-year-old stepdaughter, a 20 year-old daughter, a 21 year-old stepson, a 23-year-old stepdaughter and 3 beautiful step-granddaughters. I had Breast Cancer the first time in 1998. It was Stage IIB. I was in remission until 2008 when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer that had metastasized to the spine. I had chemotherapy and went into remission in December of 2009. In March of 2010, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and told that I would only have about 2 to 6 weeks left to live without treatment. With treatment, I was given 7 months to live (that was October 2010). I was in remission from August 2010 until just before Thanksgiving of 2010. Now I am back to the fight.
The medical community has decided that the only thing left for them to do for me is palliative care or keep me as comfortable as possible until the Leukemia takes my last breath. This includes blood work two times a week and transfusions as needed. They are also giving me a low dose chemotherapy that may help kill off some of the Leukemia cells and give my bone marrow the opportunity to produce more good cells. This would keep me from having to have the transfusions every week or twice weekly.
I have the opportunity to go abroad for treatment that is not currently offered in the United States. There is a high success rate and no side effects. You can check out the clinic where I will be going right here: http://www.hope4cancer.com/treatments-a-therapies/alternative-treatment-of-cancer.html . The doctor that started this clinic is also a Hallelujah Acres diet minister. My mom's friend knows the first gentleman on the Success Stories link that had Stage IV Bladder Cancer, Charles Daniels. She called him and spoke with him. He supports this clinic 100% and highly recommends it. After the doctors had given up on him (like they have on me) and gave him 9 months to live, he went to the Hope for Cancer Clinic for treatment. He remains cancer-free after almost 3 years now. I know that the Lord will heal me right here at home, however, this being my 4th battle with Cancer since 1998, I believe that He wants me to go to this clinic to reprogram my whole way of eating, living and thinking so that when I recover I can live a healthy lifestyle and use what I learn to teach others how to do the same. If I keep doing what I have always done, I will keep getting what I have always gotten. He does not want me to have to face this giant again.
I need to be surrounded with people that have strong faith in the Mighty Word of God. People that will speak health and life to my body. The doctors at H4C clinic are Christian and they acknowledge that there is a God Almighty that heals today. They do not speak death and dying over the patients. I need people that will intercede for me in prayer. People that have testimonies of healing from deadly illnesses or severe handicaps. Anything that will increase my faith and help me in this battle. Until my last breath I will believe that He has healed me. I am not in denial. I am not afraid. I know exactly what the medical prognosis is. Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a very aggressive blood cancer that moves extremely quickly and can take a life in as little as 3 months. I relapsed in November of 2010. This fundraiser is extremely urgent. Donations of $1 and up are extremely appreciated. Please, don't think that you cannot give enough. Every dime counts here. I am so greatful for every morning that I wake up and get to see my family.
I love you and I look forward to seeing you all soon. You may share this letter with anyone that you feel would like to join in this fight. Post it wherever you want. Send it to radio and other media. Give it to friends. Share with your church. Tell somebody. The more people that can be inspired by this fight the better. I will give all praise to Him This is about my loving, Heavenly Father. To Him Be the Glory.
