Help With Life During Rehabilitation

MY HUSBAND HAS CANCER and we are in desperate need of help. Hi, thank you all for taking the time to read our story, our situation... For the past few years my husband had been suffering with extreme pain in his back and legs, he finally went to the doctor last year and after having an MRI they diagnosed him with Transverse Myelitis, they started him on several rounds of steriods, antibiotics, and several other trial medications. As time went on his pain only increased along with having trouble walking and then having trouble using the restroom. Some time went by and they did a repeat MRI and we were sent to a Neuro Surgeon. In April we found out that he was diagnosed wrong and he has a tumor in his spinal cord. He had the surgery on the 23rd and it didn't go as planned... Unfortunately the surgeon wasn't able to remove the Tumor and he informed us that it is an Astrocytoma tumor which IS a slow growing cancerous tumor. He was able to get enough out to send off for a biopsy. Between the hospital stay from surgery and then inpatient rehab to learn how to walk again he was away from home for about a month. He has been home for a few months now, still unable to walk and still cannot drive. Most importantly hes not able to work and provide for his family , We went for a second opinion at MD ANDERSON where we got worse news. His tumor is a GRADE II DIFFUSE ASTROCYTOMA and there is 100% chance he will develop more of these. He has done 5-6 weeks of radiation (which didn't shrink the Tumor and has caused damage to his bone marrow, and now he has started chemotherapy for 6 months to a year. The reason for these are to HOPEFULLY slow the tumor from growing to give us more time with him but, Bud will have this for the rest of his life and the tumor(s) will eventually paralyze him. With his condition not improving we were recommended by his oncologist to apply for disability in which he applied back in May. We recently found out he was denied and are now in the process of appealing it. We lost our vehicle a few months ago and are now fighting to keep our home, our electricity on, water and gas. This has been an extremely hard road on not only Bud, but myself and our two small children as well. We have reached out to every organization we could find to help but unfortunately there aren't many and there is only so much they can do and with everyone telling us there is no funds there isnt any help . With this all said, we are living on a prayer. Bud may never regain full proper function of his legs and the bad proprioception may never go away which means he may never be able to work again. We belive in miracles , we are praying that our community will come together to help us. We never imagined we would be in this situation, bud has always worked and made a good life for me and his two children; its killing us to have to ask for help but we have to drop our pride and ask you to open your hearts to us. This could happen to anyone at anytime cancer doesnt discriminate. We truly appreciate any and all money donated and the hwlp with paying our bills. We have two small children (8 and 5) we still have all of our bills, and gas to get to an from appointments and so forth. Please continue to pray for us as we have a very long road still ahead of us. Even if you cannot donate PLEASE find it in your heart to share and PRAY . Thank you, The DeArmond Family we wish you all a merry christmas.
