1st Port Nelson Scout Group Gear Replacement

In October 2021, the 1st Port Nelson Scout Group equipment trailer was stolen with almost of all of our camping equipment and program supplies inside.

 

As part of Scouts Canada, we have been serving youth in the community for over 80 years. Scouts have a lot of fun discovering new things and life experiences they wouldn’t have elsewhere. Along the way they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world.

 

Before it's disappearance, the trailer escorted many groups of youth to camping adventures across the province and into the United States.  The lost supplies have been accumulated over many years and allow us to take our youth on new and exciting outdoor adventures, learn new skills, and enjoy games, crafts, and activities.

 

We are lucky to have support from local groups sharing camping equipment until we can replace ours.

Many people have reached out to us wanting to help, and we are extremely grateful for the support. We cannot afford to replace everything that was lost on our own. All donations are appreciated!

 

At this time we don't have a lot of storage space until we can replace the trailer or secure alternate storage, so we are not looking for gear donations.

Tax receipts may be possible for large donations - if you know of an organization that would like to make a large donation please contact us directly and we can arrange the donation and paperwork through Scouts Canada.

-patrol boxes with all supplies needed for camping trips (pots, utensils, sanitation, stove and lantern accessories etc.)

-board and card games

-craft supplies

-water jugs
