Vanessa's Fight With Cancer

My name is Daniel. I've known Vanessa for 10 years. She's one of the strongest most independent mother I've ever met. Before herself she makes sure time and time again that her 7 year old son Adam is taken care of. The past 6 months have been a bumpy and emotional rollercoaster. She was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. It put a stop to everything! Future plans and hopes on having a second child were unfortunately no longer a possibility. As the days went by I could see Vanessa's hard rock solid emotions of a strong independent woman start to soften. I could tell the way she looked and talked to her son were different, more emotional more real. The doctors gave her hope in the sense that they could do a partial hysterectomy and give her the chance to be able to be a mother once again. Unfortunately Vanessa got bad news after her surgery. The doctors found a small spot left of cancer... she would have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. Due to that her chances of being a mother were snatched away once again. This was a very emotional time in her life. But she always kept her head high and would say " god put me this test because he knows I will overcome it". Chemotherapy and radiation have been by far the most painful, physically and emotionally to her. She is currently still fighting this battle with cancer.
