Vercelee Rose’s Battle with Leukemia

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Vercelee Rose Oseguera is an ambitious, loving, sassy, and adventurous three year old. She loves her family; she clings to her identical twin sister, Vivianna and looks up to, and often copies, her older sister Graclin. She has had a life full of laughter and huge dimpled smiles. She lives with her mother and future step-dad Stephen and her two cats (Mini Donut and Peanut Butter), and her two dogs (Jellington and Todoroki). She loves to play at the park, ride her bike, bake with mom, watch anime with Stephen, and so many more things. She is a shining light to anyone who has been fortunate enough to meet her.  On September 15th, 2019 Vercelee was brought into the Emergency Room at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN for a high fever and suspected uti. She was diagnosed with a uti and sent home with antibiotics. During the next four days her fever returned every few hours and would reach temps close to 104. She was then brought back into the ER on Thursday, September 19th by her mother Amber again. This time they were told the uti had spread and the antibiotics were not working properly, suddenly things changed and they were rushed to the ICU for monitoring through the night. Friday comes and Vercelee showed little improvement. She was severely anemic and required a blood transfusion. Later on that day they decided to do a bone-marrow biopsy, because her white and red blood cell counts were low. The surgery went very well and there were only small side effects she had to endure, such as a little pain and bleeding, the next day. On Saturday, Vercelee was diagnosed with childhood leukemia. She will face a long three years of treatment. She has two scheduled surgeries coming up followed by many more and she will be starting chemo therapy. Her mother, Amber, has left her job and will be staying in the hospital the entire time during her lengthy stays. Her sisters and the rest of her family are all by her side to support her. This page will be updated to share her journey and be a way to communicate to the family.

There are t-shirts being made to show your support for this brave little girl. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help with daily life expenses, changes, and special needs for the family during this difficult time.

This site can also be used to offer help with her sisters, food, and other things that may be needed as it goes to a single-parent home and things become more difficult. The mother has asked that those wishing to visit and show their support realize the strict schedule and restrictions and be patient. You can reach her via facebook to ask about visitation or post on here and she will see it as she has time.

Vercelee is the sweetest little girl and deserves a rally team the size of the world. Anything and everything helps. Thank you on behalf of Vercelee and her family and friends.
