Help save Allirya!

Hi everyone! My name is Allirya and I’m a female long haired German Shepherd that could really do with your help!

Thanks for taking the time to click on my page and read my story, hopefully you can spare even the smallest amount of your time and money to help me with my cancer battle and make my life healthy and happy again!

Four weeks ago I went to the vets for a routine check up and vaccination, believe it or not I actually enjoy going there to see Dr. Ruth who’s been my caring vet since I was a puppy. Unfortunately in one way but also very fortunate in another Dr. Ruth felt a lump near my bladder which resulted in emergency surgery to remove my spleen and a tumour, without this miracle discovery and diagnosis I wouldn’t be here to tell my story!

I was such a good girl in my recovery and cut right back on all of my morning walks, barking at my friends as they walk past everyday and I even learnt to walk up and down a special doggy ramp to reach my favourite spot on the couch for some well deserved rest. My next check up of my now shaved tummy went really well as I impressed with my big scars rapid recovery but unfortunately the biopsy result of my tumour revealed that it was a nasty splenic sarcoma that had possibly spread to other parts of my body!

I was referred to a special animal cancer clinic in Melbourne where I underwent a CT scan and started a course of chemotherapy. My scan came back with a better than expected result other than a slightly enlarged saliva gland, a few days later I was back to have a biopsy done which confirmed that my saliva gland was a separate but totally unrelated type of sarcoma.

Yesterday I went back to have it removed and I’m a little worse for wear but have accepted that having half of my face and neck shaved is a small price to pay and that my fur will grow back to hide my scars! I’m such a happy go lucky little girl and know that my owners and vets have done everything they possibly can to help me and give me a new lease of life and I’m hoping you can help me out as my bills have just passed $10k over the last 4 weeks!
