Breast Cancer In Gods Waiting Room

Donation protected
“God’s Waiting Room” is where my sister Jen will tell you she works. For the past 8 years Jen has provided comfort and care to her local elderly community providing Hospice services as well as companionship and support so they remain independent and safe. She has learned a lot about death in her career; how to care without words, comfort with touch, live inside colorful stories being told and how to say goodbye…..for now. Jen has dedicated her life, both professionally and personally, to help others and now she is the one who needs help. When my sister Jennifer found two visible lumps on one of her breasts in May, she quickly took action and prepared our mother for the worst. Our Mom told Jen to stay positive as Jennifer went to all of her medical appointments; Mammogram, 3D mammogram, Diagnostic Ultrasound, 6 Biopsies and the long wait for anything official. But my sister knew what the outcome would be and took action by creating a Cancer Binder that included all legal documents and a funeral plan. My sister was worried, as she should be, but not about the cancer. She was concerned with her three young boys being without a Mom and leaving the rest of us too soon. Her medical training was kicking in and she wanted to make sure we were all educated, ready and prepared, even when she was staring cancer in the face. On May 23,2019 Jennifer was officially diagnosed with Stage 1A Her2 Positive Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer in her right breast. The cancer was found early enough to be contained within the breast with no spread but the left breast was also showing the start of abnormal calcifications. Her cancer care plan involves 6 cycles of chemotherapy with three week recovery in between each cycle. A double mastectomy is planned after the 6th chemo and then radiation. Her first chemo cycle was June 26th and by July her hair was gone. Despite all this my sister is always in good spirits and trying her best to put a brave face on for her sons. Jennifer continues to work during her treatment, something that she was adamant about doing. She was not going to let cancer keep her from doing what she loves. Unfortunately, Jennifer has to take a full week off from work every time she has to have chemotherapy to combat the side effects of chemo. This only allows her to work 2 full weeks out of each month and with no sick or vacation time to utilize, places Jen and her family in a hard place financially. Let's rally behind Jennifer by helping to cover some of her expenses until she can get back on her feet allowing her to focus on her treatments without the added burden of financial stress. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, even if you can not support financially a simple share of her GoFundMe will assist in the fight. We would like to thank you in advance for your kind and generous support.
