Touched by Val
For those of you who do not know Valerie (Val) Nwadeyi,
she is a 19 year old sophomore nuclear engineering major at South Carolina State
University in Orangeburg, SC. Valerie is a very loving and genuine young woman who enjoys seeing others excel. On campus Val is a member of numerous organizations and is a volunteer tutor. She always has a smile on her face and is a wonderful role
model, student, daughter, sister, and friend. Valerie has two younger
sisters and a younger brother. Recently she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She
has been in and out of the hospital for months and has received numerous blood
transfusions. Though Valerie has been in constant pain she is more focused on
returning to classes. Her doctors along with her mother, Ms. Mary White, agree
that it is in Val's best interest to get healthy before she returns to school.
Valerie had to withdraw from her classes and her mother who is an
Administrative Specialist for South Carolina State University's Honors College,
has been with her every step of the way. Ms. White has been a mother away from
home to majority of the students at SC State University. Valerie and Ms.
White have always assisted others, now it is our turn to assist them. The
Touched by Val fund is set up so that all of the proceeds go directly to
Valerie to help alleviate some of the costs for medical bills and the various
treatments that insurance may not cover. If your heart desires, please donate to this cause so that we can
assist this family that is in desperate need. Remember, "a dollar goes
a long way!"
