Team Tyler
Tyler Gilkison, 3 years old, recently had a severe reaction to sulfa that is in the drug Bactrim. The reaction that he had is called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. Stevens-Johnson Syndrome is a rare, serious, life threatening disorder in which your skin and mucous membranes react severely to a medication or infection. Stevens-Johnsons Syndrome can take weeks to months, depending of the severity of the condition to heal.
Recently Tyler was jet flighted to The Pediatric Hospital in Galveston, TX. He is currently is the ICU Burn Unit and receiving the best care available. He will need extensive wound care due to severity of his wounds from head to toe. We do not know the prognosis yet. Tyler is hanging in there and staying strong! Let's all pray for Tyler and the Gilkison family to return home soon!!!
