110 lbs Weight Loss Skin Surgery

My name is Kimberly Flowers and I struggled with my weight for 41 years, since I was 8 years old.  As a 49 year-old woman, I no longer could live the rest of my life as God intended in obesity and constant pain.  After many different diets, I started my recent program at 307 pounds in February of 2016 when I walked into Medical Fitness and Wellness Group of Johns Creek for a weight loss consultation in tears. By this time, I had both knees surgically repaired with partial knee replacements.  Today, my total weight loss currently is 110 pounds!  I achieved all this weight loss with nutrition and exercise alone, and it became my new life style. As one can imagine, with that kind of weight loss, I have a tremendous amount of loose skin that is in the way.  I have been steadily losing weight and was at 210 pounds when I had a consultation with Dr. Phillip H. Nakano, M.D., cosmetic surgeon, on February 2, 2017.  He encouraged me to keep losing weight, or just maintain in order to begin the next important step in my life; excess skin surgery.  The total cost of my lower body lift surgery is $14,875 (this is the largest procedure to remove excess skin around my midsection).  This is just the first surgery in a set of four procedures, each about six months to a year apart. The first surgery is scheduled for January 16th, 2018. I will spend one night in the hospital. My recovery time is projected to be 6-8 weeks, with the first three to four weeks spent at home.
