Documentary Project: "Steps to Freedom – A Walk for Gaza"
All proceeds from the documentary will go directly to the children of Gaza — every cent earned.
Overview:
This will be a documentary of a walk, a journey of truth, love, and resistance. I am Sarah Bertozzi, I live in Florence. We will be walking from Florence to Mont Sinai - Rafah, with my 4-year-old son. A peaceful and spiritual march to raise awareness for Palestine and for all people living under oppression.
This documentary will be created through Olive Leaves, the association behind this journey. All funds raised for the film will go directly to the association and will be used solely to support the creation, production, and distribution of the documentary.
By contributing, you’re not just supporting a film — you’re supporting a movement for peace, awareness, and collective liberation.
We will document this journey through a feature-length documentary, capturing the encounters, the landscapes, the challenges, and the deep human and spiritual transformation that unfold step by step.
Walking With My Son, For All Children
This journey is not mine alone — I’ll be walking with my 4-year-old son by my side.
We will capture moments of his joy, his wonder, and how he connects with the world around him. From the way he reacts to nature, to how he reaches out to people along the path, this walk will be a living story of a child growing up with open eyes and an open heart.
Throughout our 100-day journey, we will cross places of deep spiritual power — Assisi, Meteora, Mount Sinai — walking as pilgrims through landscapes shaped by centuries of prayer, peace, and reflection.
Through my son's steps, we will witness innocence, curiosity, and growth.
Through his gaze, we will remember why we must protect childhood — everywhere.
AsI will be walking with my son in peace and safety, I hold in my heart the children of Gaza, whose daily lives are marked by fear, loss, and survival.
This documentary will be for them — to give voice, to awaken compassion, and to remind the world that all children are our children.
Thank you for supporting this walk, this film, and this message.

Walk with us — in person or in spirit.
The walk depicted in the documentary was chosen for its deep spiritual resonance. From Assisi, a cradle of peace, to Meteora, a place suspended between heaven and earth, this journey is not only a walk — it’s a living prayer, a call for unity, healing, and liberation.
In Egypt, the path leads us through Wadi Feiran — the sacred valley where Moses is said to have brought forth water — and onward to the timeless stillness of Mount Sinai, where divine law was received. If the road to Rafah becomes unsafe, our pilgrimage will end there, in the shadow of that holy mountain. But our goal is to reach Rafah.
