Dalton’s Surgery Fund

Donation protected
I’ve created this go fund me page in hopes of raising the appropriate funds needed for our family Dog, Dalton. ❤️ Dalton is a purebred Black Labrador Retriever who will be 6 years old this coming Valentines Day! A week before Christmas I was lovin on my boy as usual and as i was petting him I came across a rather large bump underneath his skin on the left side of his back hind leg between the leg ang the “Tush . Naturally I freaked out because the lump was and is the size of a cherry tomato. It is also very hard and solid, not at all like a soft and squishy fat tumor. So, a few days later , a day before Christmas Eve ☃️ I took him to the Vet. They ended up examining it with their fingers and also did a test involving 2 needles being inserted into the top and bottom of the lump in order to collect a sample. They viewed the samples under a microscope and came back to us with the results. There was a lot of medical “Mumbo and Jumbo” which we did not understand but to sum it up for the purposes of this description , it turned out to be a cancerous tumor with a name that I cannot spell. But the WORD CANCER, says it ALL right there! It is a horrifying thought especially for a 5 and a half year old. This news couldn’t have come at a worse time, right before Christmas. It truly altered my feelings of the Holidays this year. I guess I felt that i was going to be waking up from a really bad nightmare soon but Alas, i found myself very much awake. My family and I adore animals, we always have! We have either adopted and or rescued many over the past years. ❤️ They truly are a huge part of the Family, they are NOT just property!
I wish our finances were better off than they currently are. Money is very very tight at the moment. The Vet we took him to said the surgery could be anywhere from $300-$400. At that time we did not have the money to have the surgery done immediately , heck we barely had enough for the office visit and the tests. The Vet did recommend giving Dalton 2 Benedryl 2 times per day to “ keep the tumor at bay” if you will until we can afford the surgery. I guess this will not allow the tumor to become any bigger, well it’s not supposed to anyway. But I do not like having to do this to him every single day until surgery. It makes him so tired and “ doped up” all day. It breaks my heart . Plus, it can’t be good for him to stay on a medication like that long term. So, I decided to come on here and try to raise enough money for his surgery. The quicker we get the money, the better off Dalton will be! We would appreciate anything ... seriously ......any single thing that any one of you can do!! Any HELP will be appreciated! Dalton also “ Thanks” you too! ❤️❤️
