Valley Girls Inc., Robotics Team

Hello, we are Valley Girls Inc. #16987, a First Lego League (FLL) robotics team from Carlsbad, CA. We are a team of seven 8th graders from Valley and Aviara Oaks Middle School. At the Southern CA Championship at Legoland, our team was lucky to place 1st and will advance to World Festival in Houston, TX  in April!

To get to Houston, our team needs to raise $9,700 to cover the costs of tournament fees, flights, lodging, transportation, food, and etc.

About FIRST LEGO LEAGUE
“FIRST LEGO League challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During the HYDRO DYNAMICS season, teams will choose and solve a real-world problem in the Project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under the FIRST LEGO League signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.”

This year’s theme is HYDRO DYNAMICS, which is about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. Our project is to help solve excess phosphates in irrigation ditches that can cause harmful algae blooms.

Our team's favorite core value is "We share our experiences with others" as we have coached and mentored 40 teams from 9 local schools.

We are excited to have the opportunity to participate in an international event with teams from all over the globe.

Thank you for supporting our team!
