Dave Miller Memorial Fund
In lieu of flowers, Dave Miller's family has started a memorial fund to honor his legacy. Dave passed from his long battle with Parkinson's disease on October 30, 2018. Dave was a teacher, coach, and sports enthusiast who loved to play and watch sports his entire life. Dave began weightlifting as a teenager, well before lifting was cool and necessary to be a high-performing athlete. He loved time spent in the Helena High weight room. We would like to refurbish the HHS weight room in his name, so every Helena High athlete has a great place to follow Dave's example. We would also like to add a plaque and a picture in his honor.+ Read More
We got a tour of the new weight room at Helena High tonight. Congratulations to Coach Evans and the Helena High staff for creating an exceptional space for athletes. Thank you to you all for contributing to this new and improved weight room. We’re sure Dad is loving it. If there is such a thing as the ghosts he used to tell about, we’re sure he is lifting at night.
Thanks again to all who contributed. We have in total $6700 dollars to put into the weight room. Overwhelmed with gratitude. Wanted to share some heart-warming news. Coach Bogard is planning a tribute to Coach Miller at the cross-town wrestling match on Dec 21st. He will be presenting a singlet signed by current and former wrestlers, coaches, managers, etc. If you would like to sign or have your name added to the singlet, please email Coach Bogard at email@example.com. He will be sure to add you to the singlet. You all know dad and how he would love this idea and love to have your name amongst the people who sweated it out on the mat with him.
We put dad’s physical body to rest yesterday but his spirit is soaring. We know he is touched and inspired by your thoughts and contribution for his weight room. Thank you again. Although we are just beginning this development we will share the progress and post pictures as the vision evolves. We couldn’t do this without all of you.
