Modern Day Slavery is literally on our doorstep and most of us don't even know it! 
   It has been reported recently that Aberdeen has the largest amount of pop up Brothels in the whole of the Uk! Meaning more and more people are being sold, beaten, held captive, sexually abused and that is just the tip of the iceberg!
City Hearts Aberdeen has a Dream and it's big! Most people in Scotland have no idea how big a problem it is in our country and now with the oil industry crashing and people have lost their jobs, it has got worse. 
   There are currently no safe houses available for these women in Aberdeen City and if or when rescued they will sometimes have to be transported hours away, just to get to a safe-house. 

   This year, with your help, we are going to open a house for women who have been rescued from Human Trafficking and also for women with life controlling issues.
   We aim to buy or rent a 6 bedroom house in Aberdeen where we can safely accommodate women who have been sold, abused, beaten, threatened, used, drugged, held captive, forced to work for free....the list goes on. 
The residential home will provide a place of refuge and recovery for both women who have escaped from modern slavery and those seeking to break free of addictions through participation in the 'Restoring you' Programme.
   We will run a 3 part service:-

'Drop-ins'-
The drop-in centre will provide a safe environment for women to socialise, meet new people, access crisis help as well as signposting local services that can meet the individual’s on-going needs. The service will provide a support anchor that is consistent and reliable in the local area. The social space staffed by committed volunteer and staff members will include activities such as table tennis, pool, board games and crafts such as journal decorating and painting. 

'Restoring You' program-
The Restore programme will offer a support environment and accommodation to vulnerable women who need help to achieve their freedom goal from life controlling addictions. This will be achieved through a structered programme including mentoring, counselling, practical help.

Safe House-
This service for rescued women will be to provide a refuge and immediate care, with access to medical and legal services as appropriate. It is intended this will help them to begin their journey of overcoming trauma and proving a safe place to decide their next steps.
